From 4 to 6 July, experts from the Sports Tourism Marketing Club of the Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board travelled with the Catalan Tourist Board to the town of Vansbro in Sweden in order to explore and develop a marketing agenda against the background of the Vansbrosimningen, an open water swimming competition for different distances and an Olympic distance triathlon. During the event the experts learned details of how the event is organised and held several meetings with a view to organising future actions to promote the Costa Brava’s Vies Braves marine and open water routes at the event.

Later, from 24 to 25 July, another exploratory trip was made, again with the Catalan Tourist Board, to the British Swimming Summer Championship, which was held in the city of Glasgow, Scotland. This is a national summer competition covering all categories of swimming and Paralympic swimming in an Olympic pool. While the competition was taking place, the delegation promoted and developed a marketing agenda with a view to raising awareness of the Costa Brava’s sports tourism offering and, more specifically, the Vies Braves and different training camps that specialise in improving swimmers’ sporting performance.
