The Girona tourism festival holds its fifteenth edition.

On 6 May, the award ceremony for the 2020 Girona Counties G! Tourism Communication Awards was held in the gardens of the Archaeological Museum of Catalonia – Empúries, organised by the Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board. The event, now in its fifteenth edition, was broadcast by the YouTube channel Costa Brava Girona for the sector.

The event was hosted by Miquel Noguer, president of the Provincial Council of Girona and of the Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board, with the participation of the Ministry of Business and Knowledge of the Government of Catalonia, Ramon Tremosa i Balcell, and the Mayor of L’Escala, Víctor Puga i López, along with a small number of authorities, award winners and representatives of the Girona tourist sector. The habanera music group Les Anxovetes performed at the ceremony, which was sponsored by CaixaBank.

15th G! Josep Pujol i Aulí Award for the Best Professional Career for the businesswoman Carme Hospital i Poch.

15th G! Xiquet Sabater Award for the Best Business Project for the Peralada Group.

9th G! Jordi Comas i Matamala Special Award for the Festival of Torroella de Montgrí.

6th G! Juli Soler i Lobo Special Award for Elena Gascons i Díaz.

15th Girona Counties G! Climent Guitart Pascual Tourism Communication Award, in the category of print media, for the journalist Jakob Strobel Serra for the report “Avant-garde with history”, published in the magazine Der Feinschmecker.

15th Girona Counties G! Tourism Communication Award, in the audiovisual media category, for the production company Producciones Mandarina for the programme Viajeros Cuatro. España sin ir más lejos: Costa Brava, broadcast on Cuatro TV.

9th Girona Counties G! Tourism Communication Award, in the digital media category, for the journalist Eloïse Poulan for the extensive post “Roadtrip sur la Costa Brava – Entre lieux incontournables et confidentiels”, published on the travel blog L’œil d’Eos.

6th Girona Counties G! Tourism Communication Award, in the digital audiovisual media category, for the journalist Ángela Gonzalo del Moral for the work published in the RTVE Travel and Tourism blog, titled “Valle de Núria, tradiciones y naturaleza”, from the programme Diez mil lugares para viajar con Ángela Gonzalo.

11th G! Yvette Barbaza Research Award for the Best Research Work for Luisa Díaz Botero, for her research project “Girona sabe a memoria”
