About 100 travel agents from San Diego, Los Angeles and San Francisco showed interest in the premium tourism products available at the Costa Brava
Girona, May 2024
From 6 to 9 May, the Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board organised once again a promotional and marketing mission to the United States with the goal of maintaining a presence and influencing holiday choices by potential North American visitors to destinations in the province of Girona. This year, it organised a cycle of marketing presentations and meetings in West Coast cities: San Diego, Los Angeles and San Francisco.
Thirteen Girona-based tourism companies specialised in premium services and products and gourmet food and wine tourism and about a hundred travel agents and programmers (such as Travel Leaders, Cassis Travel, Protravel, HelmsBriscoe, FROSCH and Skyline Travel) from the US West Coast took part in the roadshow. In each city, an event was organised to present the destination and the participating Girona-based companies and organisations, followed by networking and a cocktail featuring Catalan gastronomic products.
Simultaneously, the Tourist Board took the opportunity offered by the trip to undertake sales meetings at the head offices of the travel wholesalers Plaza Travel/Frosch in Los Angeles and Valerie Wilson/Frosch in San Francisco. In the town of Newport Beach, the Girona delegation was invited by the local tourism association, OC Prost, to take part in its monthly meeting, attended by about eighty of its members.
The Tourist Board’s promotional activities in the North American market concluded with the participation of its Unique Premium Marketing Club in the promotional event organised by the Catalan Tourist Board on 20 to 24 May in the cities of New Jersey, Fairfield (Connecticut) and Westchester, on the East Coast.
These actions are included in the Tourist Board’s 2024 Action Plan to impact on long-distance international source markets.
