Fòrum Gastronòmic Girona

Promoting gastronomy in the tourism sector.
From 13 to 15 March, the fifteenth edition of Fòrum Gastronòmic Girona, Catalonia’s leading gastronomy showcase for professionals, was held in Girona. Almost 15,000 people attended, and the Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board participated with a stand to promote the region’s cuisine through Girona Excel·lent products, created in partnership with local gastronomic associations (Cuina de l’Empordanet, Cuina Volcànica, Cuina del Vent and Cuina Pirinenca de la Cerdanya) and some restaurants that are members of the Tourist Board’s Food and Wine Marketing Club.
The fifteen sessions given by Girona Excel·lent – Gastronomic Groups, Chefs and Producers (Àgora Room-Estand 300) involved fifteen chefs, three sommeliers and head waiters, three baristas and a bartender, all of them from Girona’s restaurants and businesses. Over the three-day event, around four hundred professionals from the sector took part in product demonstrations, practical workshops and culinary technique presentations, designed to inform and raise the profile and awareness of Girona’s cuisine.
